Hey everyone! This week is especially important to me because it marks the last time I will be posting for quite a bit of time. This year has been an incredible year of change for me from a small private school that was very limiting, to a school that has brought endless opportunity knocking at my door. From new relationships to cultivating my love for media arts and pursuing my passion of volleyball as well as everything in between, I am so beyond thankful for everything that makes me who I am today. On that note, I’ll stop boring you with all this talk about me and let’s get to the story of a man with a plan and the community he has built around his passion. Recently inspired by a surfing event at a man made machine run wave, I wanted to share my once in a lifetime experience with you at professional surfer, Kelly Slater’s wave pool.
Last weekend, my pops, my best friend and I all roadtripped to the middle of nowhere in Lemoore, California. We stepped outside of the Westfalia (our house for the next two days) and it was so sureal to witness a surfable wave for the first time ever in the middle of California. It felt as if we were at Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and I got the golden ticket. We were lucky enough to get locker room VIP passes where we hung out with some of my biggest surfing idols in the name of the game. So here we were witnessing history before our eyes.
It is crazy to think that the mastermind behind this new technology that brings the gift of surfing to people who can’t access the coast is an eleven time world champion professional surfer. Talk about an overachiever! Though it seems like an unattainable concept that someone so accomplished can only keep producing more and more to astonish the public, Kelly shares a trait of pursing his passion with numerous people today. Kelly has taken his drive in the surfing world and opened his mind to the immense opportunity that followed putting his heart into his passion and cultivating a career out of it. Check out more on the continuity of innovation lead by Kelly Slater @kswaveco.
To keep it short and sweet, I will leave you with my message that I am conveying of leading your life through your passion! Thank you for keeping up woth my stories I had to tell! Until next time!
Signing off,
Henry Haber
